We appreciate that there are a lot of different options when it comes to purchasing equipment to learn/practise your skills. On this page you will find some recommended places where you can purchase equipment needed to attend skills sessions and to practice at home.
While there is plenty of choice, our suggestions are not an exhaustive list or the only options you may consider, and please do let us know if you find something that would be useful for others! If you have any questions regarding the purchase of equipment, please contact us.
Suturing sessions.
To attend any suturing session, you will need your own instruments (needle holder, toothed/non-toothed forceps and scissors) and sutures. You can practice suturing on a banana skin or alternatively purchase a simulation skin pad. Note that some (instrument) sets include a scalpel- this can be useful to make incisions in a new simulation skin pad if required as well as for the learning/practise of more advanced skills taught at some SCRUBS events.
